Harlem Arts Advocacy Week presents Black Women Playwrights:
They Speak. Who Listens?
A Panel Discussion
Monday, Oct 3, 2011
6-8 pm
Hue-Man Bookstore
2319 Frederick Douglass Blvd
Harlem, NY
212.665.7400 Based on an article written in 1976 by theater scholar and playwright Dr. Barbara Mollette, Black Women Playwrights: They Speak. Who Listens?, three emerging women playwrights come together to talk about the creative process. Esther Armah (SAVIOUR?) Radha Blank (SEED), and Kymberle Joseph (Monette) have all written work that in some way addresses the issue of advocacy. Moderated by WHCR air personality Flo Wiley, this panel of extraordinary women will discuss why they write. The event is free and open to the public.
